'The idea for the furniture emerged from our successful collaboration with Neudoerfler on our Post am Rochus project. For this project, we developed working environments and office furniture for more than 1,000 employees that continue to function well today. What did we learn? Individual scope for customisation, sustainability and a sense of domestic comfort are essential.'

'The name Venice says it all. Raised off the floor, the furniture evokes the houses and walkways on stilts that characterise Venice. This gives the pieces a light, delicate appearance while enhancing the sense of space within the workplace.'

Venice by Neudoerfler is a collection of office and lounge furniture designed for open-plan work environments and the home office. Developed in collaboration with Neudoerfler, the collection grew out of the furniture planning for Post am Rochus and the question of how workplaces can be open and flexible while retaining a sense of comfort and acoustic quality.

The collection comprises shelving, lockers, benches, hinged-door and single-door cabinets, and planters, all of which can be combined in modular configurations. The furniture is deliberately raised off the floor, reducing its visual weight and creating a lighter presence while allowing the acoustic performance of the flooring to remain effective. Legs, handles, finishes and upholstery can be combined in different ways, giving users scope for individual configuration within a serially produced system.

The formal language combines precision with understated expressiveness. Semicircular handles, two-tone legs and the furniture’s floating appearance evoke jetties, pile dwellings and reflections on water. Venice translates these references not as motifs, but as an attitude: a furniture collection that structures working environments without weighing them down, providing storage, retreat, informal encounter and opportunities for personalisation. The result is a modular system for contemporary office landscapes – refined, flexible and characterised by a light, residential quality.
