KuKu23 on the Cover of db
Happy!! After the KinderKunstLabor in June, KuKu23 in Vienna-Liesing is now also featured on the cover of db deutsche bauzeitung. Franziska Leeb describes the quarter as a lively piece of city, where affordable housing, spaces for creative work and an accessible cultural programme are woven together from the history of the former coffin factory.
Thank you to editor-in-chief Martin Hoechst and to Franziska Leeb for this wonderful feature.

We were delighted that so many of you came to visit our Berlin office, despite temperatures close to 40 degrees.
With a selection of models brought over from Vienna, we turned the office into a small exhibition for the afternoon. On display were selected projects including the KinderKunstLabor in St. Pölten, Salzburg Museum NEU & Belvedere Salzburg, and the Ballonhalle – Centre for Materials Science and Conservation.
RIBA Award for KinderKunstLabor
We are thrilled!
The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has honoured KinderKunstLabor with a 2026 International Award for Excellence.
Awards group chair Neil Gillespie:
‘These projects demonstrate a confidence in architecture's ability to create delight and dignity while working within existing constraints – whether environmental, social or economic. Rather than relying on spectacle, they show the value of thoughtful, enduring design that is rooted in context and capable of enriching everyday life.’
